Hello everyone! I'm back with a quick recap of this week's workouts. :) I am happy to say I worked out every day this week, Monday 11/7-Saturday 11/12. I also tried Zumba this week *gasp* It took a lot of courage and let me tell you, I looked a hot mess, but it was nice to try something new. Read more about my experience below. :)
11/9 Elliptical
11/10 I worked a little with a trainer this day on my back and shoulders and the rest was the elliptical. I was sitting for about 15 minutes and forgot to pause the monitor though.
11/11 I worked a little with a trainer again on biceps and I believe shoulders and the rest was the elliptical.
11/11 again. ZUMBA!
11/11 AGAIN! Yes, I got three workouts in! *proud moment* This was Zumba Mommy & Me.
So, my thoughts on Zumba. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about it just yet. There wasn't a lot of direction so I felt lost some of the time but I was able to keep up with the class for the most part. I stuck through the entire hour while others walked out so that felt pretty good. I was definitely the heaviest one there and felt a little self conscious. The women were not very talkative. When the class was over everyone just walked away, kind of like they do at the end of a flash mob, lol. Awkward. I gave one woman a thumbs up and started chatting a bit with another. We danced to Michael Jackson at the end, which was awesome. I think I will try a couple of different instructors before I give my final say.
Later on that night they had Mommy & Me Zumba with a different instructor so I decided to take my daughter. She really enjoyed herself. She wore her watch aka "heart rate monitor", trying to be just like mommy. It was so cute and I felt proud that I am beginning to set a good example for her. She's a natural when it comes to dance so she did a great job and kind of ditched me for a minute there, lol.
Here's a video I took of her in September at the Hispanic Festival. Child can dance better than me!
bad iPod pic, sorry!
11/12 I didn't have time for the gym today so I did a quick workout on the stationary bike at home.
I hope you all had a great week!
